Set on a bluff at the southern edge of the Monterey Peninsula, the house was drawn around a single idea: that the ocean should be present in every room, and never framed the same way twice.

Wide-plank oak runs from the entry through to the kitchen, where a twelve-foot island of honed Calacatta anchors the main floor. Glass folds away along the western wall, so the terrace and the living room become one room on still evenings.

Upstairs, the primary suite takes the full width of the west elevation: a private deck, a stone bath open to the sky, and a dressing room finished in rift-sawn walnut.
